Emotional health and our response to a changing climate

Psychologist Bronwyn Gresham talks about the Mental Health impacts of climate change. She outlines the value of compassion as a support for people responding effectively to climate change.

This is a talk that Bronwyn Gresham gave at the 2018 Climate Adaptation Sector Summit, hosted by the Victorian government Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning. Bronwyn is a clinical psychologist and volunteer with Psychology for a Safe Climate (PSC), a not for profit group based in Melbourne Australia.

In this talk she reflects on some of the work PSC volunteers have been engaged in. She refers to a recent report outlining some of the recent findings on Mental Health impacts of climate change. She then introduces the psychological resource of compassion as a support and guide for individuals, communities and policies in responding effectively to climate change.
