Since mid-October 2023, Uncle Ihab has been sitting outside the Parliament of Victoria every day, creating a welcoming community touch point to collectively mourn, educate, and express solidarity for Palestinian resistance against Israeli occupation.
20 December 2023 – About 60 protestors staged a “die-in” outside Nine’s Melbourne office to highlight the murder of over 95 Palestinian journalists by Israel, as well as the failure of Australian media outlets to accurately report on genocide in Palestine.
21 December 2023 – Pro-Palestine activists on kayaks blocked the path of Vela, chartered by Israel-owned ZIM, forcing a temporary suspension of shipping activities in the port of Melbourne.
